Grandma`s Kitchen in Monterey

An enjoyable mom-and-pop diner overall. In addition to the delicious pancakes I had, the service is friendly. You can tell it's a local hangout when everyone who visits knows each other on a first-name basis.

We had such an amazing time. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was the best we’ve ever had anywhere. Anyone on vacation or in the area must stop in and have breakfast! We will definitely be back every year on vacation.

I'm not judging the resturant as a whole however I ordered the seafood combo and I have to say it wasn't great. The mashed potatoes and gravy were not appetizing at all. The vegetables were the best thing on my plate but they weren't even fresh. I heard it's really busy in the mornings but I went for dinner and I was the only one in the resturant.

Great food. Clean establishment and quick service. It's our go to stop each time we're in Monterey.

Nice locals restaurant with good food. Ham steak and eggs were excellent. Chicken fried steak was good. Nice friendly staff. Cleanliness is what got them 4 stars instead of five.

Delicious pancakes, crispy flavorful bacon, steaming coffee cup - never empty. Attentive fast service. Dog friendly to well-behaved pups. I regret not trying their apple pie. Next time :)

As soon as you come in you can tell this place is going to be great. It is very popular in town and is open majority of the day. The food was so good it was like having a home cooked meal and the prices you cant beat.

Friendly staff, which raised a third star. Food is poor to unremarkable, mashed potatoes from a box, etc. This is pretty much diner chow, but there's nothing that makes it stand out, like great fried chicken or whatever. Price was OK and again the staff is very nice. Maybe it would be better for breakfast, but it will likely be everything from a boxed mix. I did like the extensive owl theme the restaurant has used.

The French dip was good, but the au jus sauce and fries were pretty bland.

We ordered takeout. Grandma's quality is always top of the linge with breakfast meals. Same for the pork chops on the dinner menu that my wife gets. She also had the soup and is thoroughly enjoying it. The restaurant is close enough to my job that we eat there whenever we can have lunch together. I don't mean good food. I'm serious. Top of the line!

Great little breakfast spot right by our hotel. They had fresh strawberries and great coffee. Made us feel like we were at grandma's house for sure! Staff was great.

Came to Monterey for the weekend, this is by far the BEST breakfast place ever. Customer service and food is AMAZING. WOW.

We make it a point to eat here when we're in the area. Great owner & staff who remembers you from yrs ago & what you usually order. Lots of specials & good food.

The owner is very nice and cares about her customers when my family and I come in. However, we were recently attended by one of their waitress who was plain rude when we were ordering. Last time coming here.

Ok food, more home style than restaurant.

I really wanted to like this place more. The server was very friendly and the place was very quaint and homey but the food was merely average. Pancakes were ok, hash browns were ok, corned beef hash was ok. You get the picture. There are very little breakfast options in the area so if you are staying in the area you have basically Denny's or this place. Your call.

We called for a late dinner and the waitress was was very accommodating. The food was very good. The salad dressings we're all home made and delicious. The apple pie, also homemade, was excellent.
